Burberry Hero Elixir de Parfum is a men’s woody-sweet amber fragrance and the most intense expression of the Hero collection. It centres on enveloping tonka bean and vanilla, a blackened leather accord and a trio of cedarwood oils.

The opening is immediately warm, creamy and resinous, with tonka providing a sweet almond-like softness and vanilla adding smoothness. Leather gradually darkens the composition, while the three cedarwoods give it a dry, polished and distinctly masculine backbone. Despite the “Elixir” name, it is more of a smooth ambered leather-wood than an aggressively smoky fragrance.

Hero Elixir is much warmer and sweeter than Hero EDT, which opens with juniper, bergamot and black pepper over cedarwood. It is also darker and more tactile than Hero EDP, whose structure focuses on pine needles, olibanum, benzoin, incense and cedarwood.
