Splendy Trendy Scents

Splendy Trendy Scents

It’s that time of year again. Festival-goers all over Australia are flocking to Byron Bay in New South Wales to spend the weekend frolicking in mud in a cloud of dust and glitter. Splendour in the Grass is back and, by all reports, it’s bigger than ever before.

‘What,’ you may ask, ‘does that have to do with perfume?’

Fair point. Not much, to be honest. However, Splendour famously inspires a certain niche of aesthetic amongst its attendees. It’s very likely that the average female splendour patron will at some point smear glitter above her cheekbones. It’s equally as likely that the average male patron will do the same. Chances are that if you through a rock (gently) into a mosh pit, you’d hit some variation of fringing, mandala earrings, henna, broderie anglaise, or a bell sleeve. Maybe even all in one hit. The word here is ‘bohemian’ or simply ‘festival’, and this style has really been the flavour of the year. For this, we can thank the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Mimi Elashiry.

While we can’t offer you a Splendy Trendy clothing ensemble, we can offer you a scent that inspires a similar vibe. Disclaimer: we are not suggesting that you take these fragrances to a music festival where it’s more than likely you’ll smell like the earth despite your best efforts. We’ve compiled a list of bohemian, earthy fragrances that are reminiscent of a day watching the sun go down, listening to your favourite artist.

1. Burberry Body EDP

Burberry Body is the lighter, bohemian version of the original Burberry. Made up of cashmere, ambers and absinthe, Burberry Body is a luxury chypre and is carefree as they come.

Burberry Body EDP – $69.95

2. Bvlgari Jasmine Noir

Jasmine Noir is ultimate boho luxe. This opulent scent is comprised of jasmine (weirdly), gardenia and woods. Jasmine Noir is for the fancy festival girls among us.

Bvlgari Jasmine Noir – $84.95

3. Tom Ford White Patchouli

White Patchouli by Tom Ford smells exactly how it sounds. This fragrance is reminiscent of freshly washed linen and is made up of bergamot, jasmine, patchouli and woods. White Patchouli is paired perfectly with a flower crown.
