Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Eau de Toilette is a bold, woody‑spicy masculine fragrance built around an overdose of hot and cold spices wrapped in tobacco, leather and woods. It was released in 2012 as the masculine counterpart to Flowerbomb and composed by perfumer Olivier Polge.
Spicebomb opens with a bright, zesty blast of bergamot and grapefruit, immediately laced with pink pepper and elemi that give a sparkling, peppery bite. This creates an immediate contrast between juicy citrus freshness and cool, metallic spice.
In the heart, the fragrance turns warmer and denser, with cinnamon, saffron and paprika (or pimento berries) creating a fiery, almost smouldering spice accord over a touch of aromatic lavender. The drydown is dominated by masculine accords of tobacco, leather and vetiver, sometimes described with added fir balsam and white leather, giving a smoky, slightly sweet, rugged finish.
Overall, Spicebomb reads as an “olfactory explosion” of spices: loud, extroverted and deliberately seductive rather than subtle. The interplay of fresh citrus and cold spices up top with hot, resinous spices and dense tobacco‑leather in the base gives it a dynamic, almost fizzy warmth that feels assertive and modern.
